Hawaiian guitar rocker John Cale shares life in the United States
HONOLULU — The Hawaiian rock group John Cales, who is from a musical family in Hawaii, is making his way back home after spending more than three decades in the U.S. in a bid to prove that he can still rock out to his heart’s content in the States.
Cale, who lives in Seattle, is scheduled to perform at the Royal Hawaiian Festival in Waikiki this weekend.
The festival is the culmination of Cales’ years-long international touring.
The Hawaiian musician’s international touring included stops in countries including Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and Sweden.
He was born in Hawaii and grew up in San Diego, Calif.
He started playing guitar when he was 8 and is a frequent collaborator with his bandmates.
Cales said he has no plans to leave Hawaii anytime soon.
